 WELCOME TO PANTHER PRIDE ATHLETICS

Together We Play

INCLUSION IN ACTION

OUR STORY

Back in 2016, Panther Pride Athletics began as a simple but powerful vision: to create a place where children of all abilities could experience the joy of athletics and the belonging that comes from being part of a team. At the time, opportunities for children with disabilities to participate in sports were limited. Seeing this gap, we set out to change it.

We started small. Partnering with the Spring Lake Park Softball Association, we invited elementary-aged students with disabilities to come out and play softball during the summer. With the help of local teachers who volunteered their time, we created a supportive, inclusive environment where kids could learn, grow, and—most importantly—have fun. That first season sparked something special: families felt welcomed, kids were celebrated for who they were, and a community began to grow.

Fast forward eight years, and that vision has transformed into something bigger than we could have imagined. Panther Pride Athletics is now a proud nonprofit organization serving children from across the North Metro. Our home fields are at the National Sports Center, where athletes come together to practice, play, and build friendships that extend far beyond the games themselves.

What began as one softball program has now expanded into multiple sports, including skating, soccer, and, of course, softball—with more on the horizon. Each sport is adapted to ensure every child, no matter their ability, can participate fully and feel the pride of being part of a team.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to break barriers and stereotypes by offering adaptive sports programs that cater to the unique needs of every child. We strive to promote inclusivity, teamwork, and personal development through sports.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to create a future where inclusive athletics are the standard, not the exception. We aspire to build a community where children of all abilities are celebrated for their strengths and empowered to thrive both on and off the field.

"My son, Cooper, has been part of Panther Pride Athletics for the past five years, and the impact has been incredible. This program truly caters to participants of all ages and abilities, filling a vital need in our community by giving kids with special needs the chance to experience sports. Through Panther Pride, Cooper has gained confidence, developed social skills, and—most importantly—had opportunities for family and friends to watch him participate in athletic events, something that is often rare for students with special needs. Coach Sam and Coach Amber are wonderfully supportive, accepting every student and celebrating every milestone with genuine pride and joy. We are so grateful for the positive difference this program has made in Cooper’s life!"
